Study Finds Wine May Fight Sore Throats & Dental Plaque

The beneficial properties of wine, especially red wine, to the heart and cardiovascular system have been long known, but did you know that both white and red wine can help combat germs that cause sore throats and dental plaque?

A study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry discovered that chemicals found in wine kill 99.9% of dental bacteria and germs that contribute to dental plaque and sore throats. Of course, as with most things, this is in moderation. Wine is acidic, so too much can cause enamel erosion as well as staining if drinking red wine.
