Bocage Plantation: Located at 9050 Highway 942 Darrow, LA, only 20 minutes from Baton Rouge, and built in 1837, this mansion now serves as a bed and breakfast, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The front gallery provides a majestic, panoramic view of the 100-acre plantation. The second-level grand rooms overlook the levee that fronts the Mississippi River. This magnificent mansion has not only been well-documented in many books, it has been used as a Hollywood movie set.
Butler Greenwood Plantation: Still owned by the original family who conduct tours of the home themselves, it is located at 8345 US Highway 61 St. Francisville, LA, and is a must-see due to the:
