Capitol Park Museum

We like to take the time once a week to encourage our patients to enjoy the many things that our community has to offer such as the parks, museums, festivals, and other activities. Today we would like to highlight the Capitol Park Museum, a great place for the whole family to learn and play together.

About the Museum

Learn about one of the most vibrant states in America at the Capitol Park Museum. Learn how Louisiana came to be populated by American Indians; enslaved Africans and Acadians from Novia Scotia who became known as Cajuns; and colonists from Spain, France, and Britain. Experience how these populations cultivated the state making it into one of the most culturally rich regions in the world. The museum includes:

  • Thematic exhibits regarding industry, culture, and other aspects of Louisiana history
  • Grounds for Greatness: Louisiana and the Nation (permanent exhibit)
  • Experiencing Louisiana: Discovering the Soul of America (permanent exhibit)
